LoRa Smart Padlock
A LoRa smart padlock for sites with many locks and a weak or absent cellular signal: yards, substations, solar and wind farms, and tanker or cargo vehicles. The locks talk to one gateway over LoRa; only the gateway connects to the network, so no lock needs its own SIM card.
Put the network in one box, not in every lock
A cellular radio in every lock means a SIM, a data plan and a battery drain for each. LoRa moves all of that onto one gateway and lets the locks sleep.
Reaches where cellular does not
LoRa passes through walls, metal doors and truck bodies that stop Bluetooth and weaken 4G. A gateway in a cab reaches the seals on the trailer.
No SIM, no credentials in the lock
Network credentials sit only on the gateway. A lock lost or taken off site discloses nothing about your network, and there is only one device to admit to it.
Addressed to one lock
Every lock has a unique identity. A command is addressed to one lock, which checks it against its own identity and discards anything else. Commands are AES-128 encrypted.
Alarms without waiting
Locking, unlocking, cutting and prying are reported the moment they happen, not at the next scheduled report.
Bluetooth on site
The app opens and closes the lock over Bluetooth for commissioning, inspection and the day the network is down.
Battery changed in minutes
Over a year on its internal cell at normal use. The bay in the underside opens with the supplied spanner; no disassembly, no return to factory.

The cable version seals what a shackle cannot reach
The steel-cable LORA_BLE_098 is used as a reusable LoRa electronic seal: on fuel tanker sealing points, on cargo bags, and on any point with a wide or awkward span. It raises the same cut alarm as the shackle version and reports through the same gateway.
On a vehicle the gateway sits in the cab on vehicle power with 4G and GPS. The seals sleep until they are woken, locked, unlocked or attacked, and a seal carried away from the vehicle drops out of range, which is itself an alarm.

A LoRa lock works with a gateway
The gateway relays between the locks and the platform. At a fixed site it runs from mains and uplinks over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G; on a vehicle it runs from vehicle power over 4G and adds GPS, so every event carries a position. One gateway serves about 50 locks. Locks and gateway are supplied on the same regional LoRa band.

Frequently asked questions
Do the locks need SIM cards?
No. Only the gateway connects to the network, over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or 4G. On a vehicle that means one SIM for the whole truck instead of one per lock. If you need a single lock to report on its own with no gateway, use the 4G smart padlock.
How far can a lock be from the gateway?
On a vehicle we have measured 800–900 m, far beyond the length of any truck. On a fixed site the reach depends on walls, buildings and terrain, so a site survey decides how many gateways are needed and where they go.
One gateway serves about 50 locks.
What happens if the gateway is out of range or offline?
The lock keeps recording its events and uploads them when it next reaches a gateway, so the audit trail survives. What you lose in that time is the live alarm. The app can still open and close the lock on site over Bluetooth.
Which LoRa frequency does it use?
The one for your country: EU868, US915, AS923, AU915, IN865, KR920, CN470 and others. Locks and gateways are built for one band, chosen when you order, so tell us where they will be used.
Can the data go to our own server?
Yes. The gateway supports MQTT pass-through with a configurable broker address, topics and credentials, plus TCP, HTTP and an open API. Or use our hosted platform, which has no platform fee. See Platform & App.
